iAchieve at home: ACER - supporting learning at home

Sent: Monday, December 01, 2003 5:35 PM Dear Principal, The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is an independent, not-for-profit educational research and development organisation that was established in 1930. ACER’s mission is to create and disseminate knowledge and tools that can be used to improve learning. ACER has a history of supporting schools by assisting students with their learning and development. ACER is seeking school support in implementing its latest educational product.
We are writing to request your school’s support in implementing our latest educational service in the area of online assessment. The program is called iAchieve at home and the program will be launched in late January 2004. The most exciting feature about this program is that it provides information from quality assessment instruments, in a form that empowers students to take responsibility for improving their own learning. It also enables parents to become more involved in supporting learning at home.
Many parents know ACER through our Scholarship and Selection Testing Programs and increasingly at the tertiary level for university admission tests. This is however, the first time ACER will be offering educational support materials directly to parents. We feel that this service may be of interest to parents at your school and we would be very grateful if you could make parents and students aware of this program by placing the information included below in your school newsletter at the end of this school year.

The website will be active from early January 2004, so it would be helpful if this information could be repeated in your Term 1 newsletter for 2004.

iAchieve at home is an online assessment program in English and Mathematics available from January 2004. The program is designed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).
iAchieve at home supports childrens' learning at home with online assessment for students in Years 3-10. Individual reports are provided as feedback for students and parents. http://www.iachieveathome.com.au/
